Appeal Process
If you believe your students’ absences are due to extenuating circumstances, you have the right to appeal the Seat Time Requirements issued. However, in order for an appeal to be considered the student must have NO unexcused absences (SC-UNEX) on their attendance record. A detailed account of your students’ absences were included in the FA Notification email and can also be found in PowerSchool. If documentation such as medical excuses, parent notes, etc. for unexcused absences need to be submitted they can be emailed to fdhsatendance@dorchester2.k12.sc.us. Once documentation for all unexcused absences have been submitted a request for the appeal form can be made through our attendance secretary.
