What We Do
What is Esports?
Video games that are played in a highly organized competitive environment. These games can range from popular, team-oriented multiplayer online battle arenas to single player first person shooters, to survival battle royales, to virtual reconstructions of physical sports (hir.harvard.edu).

Through the Generation Esports.com platform, the FDHS Esports Club gamers/players were able to participate in the High School Esports League (HSEL) and Youth Winner's Circle (YWC) online gaming communities, and in the 2022-23 season students were able to play and compete in tournaments in the following game titles: Valorant, Brawlhalla, Halo Infinite, Rocket League, 10-Minute Chess, Rainbow Six: Siege, League of Legends, Overwatch 2, Multiversus, Hearthstone, CS: GO, and Minecraft: Survival.
For at least 10 consecutive weeks, with two weeks of pre-season matches and eight weeks of regular season matches, students engage in their Esports tournaments. Fort Dorchester High School is in the East region of the HSEL and YWC, and with the below map you can see the various states with high schools that Fort students competed against. In Spring 2023, three rosters from the FDHS Esports Club qualified to compete in the High School Esports League Spring Major Championship Playoffs (April 10 - 21)!
